Attorney

This is me: I’m the solo practitioner of the firm and the attorney on call for any of your legal issues. I graduated with honors from undergraduate school at the University of the South in Sewanee and graduated with high honors from law school at the University of Tennessee College of Law at Knoxville. Before law school, I started off as a server and bartender in Nashville. After law school, I practiced a wide range of civil litigation, especially in the field of family law, where I have represented clients from all walks of life and with varied needs.

I know how to turn legalese into language for non-lawyers, and I always make sure that no matter what is happening in a case, the client is always aware of their options. No attorney can guarantee a result, but every attorney should be able to guarantee that the client knows what they’re getting into and how they can try to reach their goals. I make sure of that for all of my clients.

Earl Grey is the finest dog East of the Cumberland River, official mascot of the firm, and legal assistant to Michael Caskey. He has over nine years of experience with community engagement, quality assurance, and street-level investigations. When he isn’t diligently working in the office, he volunteers in his free time with the Neighborhood Watch by barking at friends and strangers who pass by the window.

I run into more and more instances of people recording each other in divorces or other disputes with an expectation to use these recordings later. Some recordings are useful. Some are real smoking guns of evidence. Most are not. Here, I give an outline of what to expect out of recordings when used in litigation, and suggest some ways to improve on the technique of getting useful evidence through the camera on your phone.
